How to Export & Import Webforms
In this tutorial, we’re learning how to export and import webforms in Drupal. This is very helpful if you're looking to migrate from a live site to a dev site, if you're looking to borrow or share your webform, or if you're just interested in how to export / import pieces of content in Drupal and Website Services.
A few important highlights we want to make sure you take away from this video tutorial:
- This is not a PERFECT experience - you still want to check your form after importing
- Results and submissions to not export. You'll essentially start a brand new form
- You will still need to place the webform on the landing page (or any page) that it should be displayed
- This will save you a ton of time in the building phase, but use that saved time to test, test, test.
Have any cool examples of how you’re using webforms? I’d love to hear about them so we can share and showcase your work!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are migrating from a live site to a development website, please download your webform results (submissions) prior to launching the development site. This will give you a backlog - essentially a backup or snapshot - of submissions for both organizational and legal reasons. This is important should anyone ever need to find a submission through a webform on your site.
